Gin Speedrider Reversable Harness-should I keep the airbag on when ski-flying?

I've been flying for 1 yr, have about 40 flights. Half on ski's and half on foot. I fly Gin Bobcat 16.5 . I wonder if it's worth it to keep the airbag on when using in the winter. Sometimes I wonder if when ski flying, would I really ever fall on my ass and need the airbag ? Seems like the airbag is more of a foot launching thing. It does save a little weight and space when I remove it. Any thought?

my thoughts...

Agree not many use airbags on snow - depend on the type of harness and if it intereferes with your riding position and ability to use ski lifts etc... Many riders will wear harness and use a stuff sack to carry their glider so are always wearing their harness. Bulky airbag attached to your harness would be a problem on most ski lifts.

When riding...
If when the airbag is attached it doesn't interfere with your normal skiing/riding position and using the lifts is OK  then keep it on if you like the extra safety....

How easy to remove & refit ?

If it is an issue or would improve your riding position remove after the first half dozen or so flights. Quiet often you get a bit rusty not using skis for most of the year...
