Hi all

Im new to the forum and to your chosen sport, Im an ex military parachutist, and cat 10 fs1free fall with aprox 300 jumps, however never done any paragliding / speed flying.

As i dont get the chance to jump anymore i would like to take up paragliding, but interested in the speed flying side of things. How do i go about doing this ? is it regulated ? Would i need to do a basic paragliding course first to club pilot or something then progress to the speed flying ?

Im familiar with canopy handling all be it diferent canopies, so aware of some of the dangers, but this is something im desperate to pursue, any help or guidance greatly recieved.

This depends on your location... A few countries aviation laws require pilots to have a paraglider license. In UK not regulated, but if you fly at recognised paraglider sites you will need BHPA  3rd party insurance. Which means you then need a Paragliding license.

No, but if interested in paragliding and Speed-Flying then doing the courses would be a good option.

Check the instruction page (http://www.speed-flying.com/instruction) to find nearest one to you and contact for available options.

Or post a message asking for local pilots who may be interested in hooking up
