Brake settings and adjusting, Niviuk Skate 14

Hi everyone,

I just received my new Niviuk Skate 14 in the mail and have made a few laps foot launching it in the mountains. The guy i bought it from had only used it in a ski resort with skis on, so the brakes were all the way out making it hard for me to flare out properly landing on foot. I tightened the brakes, shortening them by about 20 cm.

Can anyone tell me if this is the way to do it? As long as left and right are the same length, how much can you shorten the brakes without affecting wing performance?

You can shorten your lines just to the point they are going to engage the tail however, I would not recommend this for several reasons.  I would look to see what the manufactures recommended control line length is and go with that unless you have freakishly short arms Eye-wink  Looking at the technical file it looks like they recommend 178cm for the 3BR1 line.  I hate to say this but this is one of those questions, if you have to ask you should take to someone that is qualified.
