GWing - Speedwing
Many pilots have a second wing next to their normal paraglider. If you are looking for an affordable main or second funwing than this is your wing to buy. Gwing has made a tough wing wich can handle the most rough conditions and it’s able to handle quite a big windrange al depending on your wingload. A good pilot with 100 kg pilotweigt can take off and soar from 5 m/sec up to 12 m/sec with the 20m²! The Speedwing is fitted with trimmers and a speedsystem wich are to be used seperatly! in this way you can choose how you want to maintain your speed.
The wing is very agile and reacts quick on the brakes without beëing nervous or shaky, it just gives you a very solid feel and you will learn to enjoy the feedback it gives you. The Speedwing is born at “the Dutch Mountains” as we call our dunes and offcourse we fitted the ASR system in the wing, so no need to worry about sand entering your wing and as such creating a safety problem, the ASR system just removes all the sand quickly through the wingtips leaving nothing behind in the entire wing. Also the created extra airflow gives the wing a higher pressure through the whole wing and thus enhancing in this way the solid “feel” from the wing. The Speedwing has a very modern line setup with 3 risers and a minimum of lines from Liros wich are all sheeted. Unsheeted lines would give even more performance but as we see it thoughness is also important and a glide number of 8 is already quite impressive and usable for a miniwing. Having the thoughness and rough use (or abuse) at the beach and rocky hike & fly’s in mind, we decided to use only the best Skytex Cloth from Porcher France. The upper and lower wing is made from the same 38gr m2 Skytex E25A 9017. The risers are equipped with soft toggles for a comfort ride and neodinium magnet holders wich wil also work in snowy and sandy conditions. The trimmers are setup with A B and C risers and are equipped with trimmers and speedsystem. Note that the speedsystem and trimmers can not be used the same time, so fly with using the trimmers or the speedsystem but not both! Before take off you should always check that your trimmers ar pulled in i.e. closed, when using the speedsystem the trimmers should also be closed.
